"Sao Paulo" is from Aglaia Konrad's self-published series, which was produced between 1995 and 1998 with the theme of a specific city.

At the time, only two titles were produced: this book, which is composed of photographs of São Paulo, and "Mexico City," which is a collection of photographs of Mexico City. After that, from 2003 to 2004, only 7 copies were produced as a 12-volume artist book, "Copy Cities".

In this work, the presence of the photographer, which is strongly felt in Conrad's photographic works after , is hidden in the shadows, and the city of São Paulo is captured with a sharp, mechanical gaze. It is And by using simple but reversal of images and unique sequences, it is a book that makes you feel as if you have wandered into an unknown city. Photos of São Paulo and Mexico City can also be seen in the later published Elasticity, but fragments of various cities are mixed together. "Elasticity" and this book are almost completely different in editing method, and there is a series of developments without completing the photos. The essence of Iku Conrad is prominently displayed.
