No More No Less by Thomas Sauvin & Kensuke Koike
Beijing-based French collector/artist Thomas SauvinThomas Sauvin) and Venice-based Japanese artist Koike Kensuke.
In 2015, Sauvin happened to come across an album made by students of the Department of Photography at Shanghai University in the early 1980s. The album contained the original negatives, silver prints, and review comments from a person who seemed to be a professor, showing the students' efforts to master the conventional techniques of portrait photography. Sauvin and Koike established the rule of "No More No Less," that is, to neither add nor subtract anything, and used a cutter and tape to challenge the possibilities of developing a single image.
This is a very unique collection of works that combines a fold-out accordion-style book with a saddle-stitched booklet.
Limited to 400 copies. Comes with slipcase.
