A complete reprint of an important early self-published zine project by Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama
In 1972, Daido Moriyama, who was overwhelmed with photography work, decided to create his own work, even if it meant he had to force himself to do so. Seeking a minimal medium of hand-to-hand presentation, he started producing a self-published collection of works in a zine-like format. Due to the oil crisis, printing costs jumped, so production was suspended after No. 5, but Akio Nagasawa became the publisher and restarted the series in 2006. As of 2023, "No. 54" has been produced.
