A collection of works by Belgian artist Michaël Borremans.

Known for his absurdist and eerie drawings and enigmatic paintings, Borremans worked as a photographer and graphic designer until he was in his 30s. He first showed his video works at the 2005 Berlin Biennale, filling the exhibition hall with the most important works. The works are closely related to his two-dimensional works in form and subject matter, and he uses delicate camerawork to gradually create an oppressive atmosphere. Borremans focuses on a fixed spot or slowly zooms in to focus on a particular detail of a landscape, a body part, a face, or a piece of clothing. The identity and what his subjects are doing are never revealed until the end. Like his paintings, these images strike a delicate balance between a clear, everyday reality and a strange dream world.
