(Signed) Last Trip to Venice by Seiichi Furuya
A privately published collection of works by Japanese photographer Seiichi Furuya.
After Christine was released from the hospital at the end of February 1985, Furuya and Christine hopped on an overnight express train to Venice, where they stayed for three days, wandering aimlessly around the island. Furuya shot two rolls of film, but later in East Berlin he accidentally reused one of them, resulting in overlapping exposures of Venice and East Berlin. In 2002, to mark Christine's birthday, Furuya self-published this book, a compilation of the photographs from their final trip together. An exhibition of the same name was also held at the Shinjuku Nikon Salon, and Furuya was awarded the 27th Ina Nobuo Award.
Limited to 529 copies, each stamped and numbered by the artist.
